In this talk, we study the cohomological annihilators introduced by Iyengar and Takahashi. Let R be an equicharacteristic complete Gorenstein local ring over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. If the cohomological annihilator of R is the maximal ideal, we prove that R has finite Cohen-Macaulay type if the Krull dimension of R is less or equal to one. This is a joint work with Souvik Dey.
